Account Manager

 Description

This Account Manager role is primarily responsible for supporting the client and my client’s internal creative, brand and digital teams.  The Account Strategy Manager must quickly develop a strong understanding of the client’s business, industry, economic model, organizational trends and customer needs in order to respond quickly to client requests from a strategic point of view.  The Manager is responsible for directing and supervising client communications, managing individual maintenance and production requests, budget tracking and reporting. This person will act as the client advocate and make them feel like they “have someone on the inside”

 Essential Job Function

  •  Practice Development
  • Proactively seek to understand the methodologies and processes of the business and assist in delivering solutions utilizing those standards
  • Passionate about delivering the best thought leadership, insights, creative and technology, by finding creative ways of executing smaller requests that does not jeopardize schedule or budget

     

    Client Delivery

    • Work with established Account Strategists in Brand, Digital and Creative to understand client’s business and marketing objectives
    • Deliver strong and compelling communications (including presentations) providing context and rationale for the client
    • Approve & oversee assigned projects and deliverable on the account, ensuring that they deliver on-brand, on-strategy and that the client understands the context and rationale
    • Establish good internal working relationships among peers to ensure the best solution for the client by knowing and communicating plan, budget and objectives
    • Manage client relationships and set appropriate expectations
    • Assist in managing billing process for the account
    • Serves as the primary day to day contact for clients regarding production execution as needed; crisis management

     

    Business Development

    • Identify and communicate new business opportunities with existing and new clients by understanding opportunities in client’s business, consumer and brand objectives
    • Proactively review the SOWs with clients to ensure that they understand their responsibilities to the success of the project
    • Works on new business efforts to ensure proper estimating and assumptions are made throughout the proposal/SOW process. Ensures multiple approaches are presented if needed
    • Be intuative

     

    Required Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree
    • Demonstrated business development and team management skills: be able to prepare a case study of previous engagements
    • Strong understanding and working knowledge of creative, digital and brand marketing
    • 1-3 years of proven project leadership experience on small to medium size and moderately complex projects within an interactive agency, web, brand, or Mobile Digital environment.
    • Working knowledge of project management concepts, methodologies and tools.
    • Ability to lead well under pressure and to lead a project team to ensure deadlines and budget are met while exceeding clients’ expectations
    • Ability to effectively create project plans based on the needs of the project
    • Ability to tailor communications approach based on the situation
    • Must possess decision-making skills for problem identification and solution recommendation
    • Communication skills with the ability to present information in verbal, written or visual form to a variety of audiences, from the internal team to client executives
    • Experience communicating directly with external clients
    • Experience managing marketing, creative or technology projects

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A minimum of 5+ years of marketing strategy experience (brand management or agency experience preferred)
    • Experience developing project plans using MS Project
    • Experience developing Statements of Work , case studies
    • Familiarity with creative, digital and brand development life cycle and various development methodologies
