Online Ad Operations Manager - NYC

This role  is an interactive media savvy Project-Manager-type person who is keen on emerging and innovative technologies!

This Freelance Client in NYC is in need of an individual with experience in online advertising operations to lead a team that will support all their online advertising.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Excellent communication and management of various stakeholders around the company and external
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the department including inventory management, insertion order tracking, billing, availability forecasting, sell-through reporting and on time trafficking of campaigns and campaign performance management.
  • Improve efficiency and accuracy of the department and create best practices for our business
  • Motivate and develop the ad Operations team
  • Identify, recommend and oversee implementation of tools and systems that will improve online advertising operations, where relevant
  • Managing the interface with the Sales on a daily basis to ensure all schedules are complete and on track
  • Liaise with Sales to maximize inventory and have influence in yield management
  • Play a leading role in the refinement of our ad booking system (billing, revenue, advertiser history)
  • Facilitate training and supervise sales managers in the use of operations technology
  • Liaison with advertisers/agencies to oversee proper implementation of complex or new campaigns (ad tags, mitigate reporting discrepancies, pixel placement/tracking, etc.)
  • Document ad operations policies and procedures
  • Serve as liaison between Marketing and Sales departments regarding high level planning, prioritization, scheduling and delivery of campaigns.
  • Strategic planning for future growth, working collaboratively with Sales Management, Development, Marketing and Editorial departments to plan out revenue maximizing ad revenue opportunities
  • Investigate new advertising opportunities and technologies while directing the processes needed to serve, fulfil and track them
  • Develop and implement policies to make our advertising effective while enhancing the experience of our customers when they interact with us in a digital medium
  • Creating and updating product catalogue
  • Represents Online operations and processes in cross divisional meetings to ensure a positive customer experience by providing optimal site operability, event execution and email program implementation
  • Constantly monitor and improve customer satisfaction as it relates to the ad implementation process
  • Help draft responses to RFPs
  • Ensure immediate and direct feedback to sales account executives regarding campaign issues or revisions.
  • Attend industry events as appropriate

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • A thorough specialist knowledge and understanding of digital advertising
  • Must have experience with DART Ad server and order management system, familiarity with rich media tags, basic understanding of javascripts and HTML
  • Proficient with internet technologies & 3rd parties hosting
  • Worked with off shore vendors & international sales team
  • Proven experience managing digital ad operations
  • Knowledge of digital operations infrastructure
  • Managed and develop people
  • Leading change within an online advertising environment
  • Track record of implementing good practice in ad trafficking and operations
