Here’s the skinny:
• Develop content using jQuery /JavaScript, AJAX, XHTML, HTML, and CSS within a web application context
• Responsible for the development of new code and the maintenance of existing client-side code
• Produce code that simplifies future development and reduces error rates
• Understand and adhere to the technical “best practices” and guidelines for content creation
• In-depth knowledge of the functions and limitations of HTML, Javascript, CSS, Ajax, jQuery, Mootools, site speed, performance turning
• Exposure to coding in all logical development tiers (front-end UI, middle-tier, database tier)
• User experience knowledge of working with source code/version control systems such as Subversion
• Thorough understanding of Graphic User Interface and interactive design
• Conceptual knowledge of java server side technologies and how they relate and work together with web programming
• 3+ years of on-the-job web development experience
• Design, code and test client solutions for web development projects
• Recognize and resolve design issues and errors
• Perform component and assembly testing prior to QA
• Document functional and technical design specifications where required
• Works within a collaborative team environment, following and maintaining the specifications, guidelines and standards set by supplier and GM IS&S
• Displays flexibility within an iterative development methodology
• Accurate estimation and delivery of projects
• Assess the development requirements and provide input with regard to the provision of standard vs. customized solutions
• Implement technical problem resolution to complex issues
• Strong knowledge of the Web and its technologies, tools, vendors, and products
• Experience developing high-traffic, consumer-facing production web sites
• Exposure to coding in all logical development tiers (front-end UI, middle-tier, database tier)
• Object-oriented development experience
This will be a freelance job that will last for the next 6 weeks.
