We are actively recruiting for a major Automotive client in the Detroit area.

Summary

The Innovation Manager will work closely with the Executive Innovation Director for the Focus Innovation work stream and all components driven by this activity including quarterly innovations sessions, proof of concept development, strategic pov’s, research, testing, development and insight on all appropriately developed strategic platform and digital innovations on behalf of GM.​  This work requires a unique mix of strong strategic talent, deep technology understanding, research models, analytic skills and a keen eye for great ideas which deeply engage consumers and drive increased sales through digital channels.

Responsibilities

*With the team, attend  all innovation sessions to generate three to five possible ideas that are appropriate for phase two consideration and assist in driving  two of these ideas into testing, proof of concept and, as appropriate onto development and deployment on GMDS

*Participate in an innovation team to provide ongoing content that is relevant to GM and drives forward thinking about how to maximize their digital channels

*Establish and maintain relationships with key GM stakeholders to manage expectations, status of programs and overall content driving both actual transformation on divisional sites but also perceptual transformation about where GM sits in the competitive set and where they are relative to best in class web experiences, regardless of industry.

*Assist in the drive of a steady stream of thought pieces across the engagement with active distribution and presentation of those to key GM stakeholders.

*Support EID on strategic thinking across specific lines of business.

*Help drive operational success across the Innovation work stream by distinguishing what tools/​practitioners can be leveraged to deliver proactive solutions across all channels including training, tool management and content dissemination to both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications/​Qualities

*A leader who has experience dealing with  innovative solutions to complex business problems across the digital landscape

*Digitally fluentwith an understanding of the convergence of earned, owned, and bought media.​  Exposure to and understanding of social media/​search, mobile, content management systems and web technologies.

*Capable of framing actionable ideas that drive solutions.​ 

*Has an understanding of how to navigate vast cultural differences in both the business and the digital landscape without letting those differences impede progress or diluting ideas.​ 

*Good client engagement skills with a soft, yet direct, and confident demeanor

*Experience with highly available production environments

*Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to tailor these to both very senior and relatively junior audiences.

*Knowledge of software methodologies and best practices

*Systematic thinking skills.​ Able to deal with novel problems from different perspectives and from different levels of abstraction.​  Able to work in an agency environment inclusive of differing perspectives and priorities.

*Some experience in architecting, designing and building enterprise scale web platforms or at least a base understanding of how these items are organized and managed

*Data modeling and data architecture skills, including data mapping and data migration as well as research modeling for idea validation

*BA in computer science with 7+​ years experience preferred
