We are in search of a PR freelancer in the Detroit area to take on a very important client of ours. They are one of the many growing companies in Detroit and need your help to spread the good word both nationally and locally! I you have those types of media connections, understand both digital and traditional PR and can build both the “big story ideas” and execute them then this is the client for you!
Job Description:
• Outreach – Social – Follow up
• Building big story ideas / strategy and implementation and delivery
• Story/Press Development
• Pitch/Support Documents
• Build relationships with the right media contacts (WSJ, Time, AdAge) that are both local and national in reach. These contacts should be in the Tech and Advertising space as well. Established relationships preferred.
• Push stories beyond traditional media (bloggers, social web, etc)
• Press Releases – have the ability to take them beyond just getting hits on Google alerts
• Be in the know on events/functions, etc that client should have involvement in.
• Make “personnel hire” announcements exciting and relevant. Take them beyond just an announcement.
• Take coverage beyond. Our client is in the TV/ Video industry and would need exposure in those channels
• Monitor coverage and adjust strategy accordingly
Qualification:
• Must have prior experience and success stories to support experience. Be prepared to showcase them as well as samples
• Established media contacts in traditional and digital
• The ability to freelance and meet with client weekly onsite
• Be innovative!
• Be excited about Detroit’s growth and be a part of it!
